The prestigious English magazine Conde Nast Traveller rated hotel Explora in Patagonia as one of the best hotels in the world, thereby heading the 2005 Gold List.

This specialist travel magazine placed this hotel number one in the ranking of the “best hotels in the world by location” in the geographical area of America and the Caribbean , since, for the first time, it divided the list into six categories: rooms, service, environment/design, cuisine and leisure facilities and location.

"This is one of the major recognitions earned so far. Heading the Conde Nast Traveller Gold List bears far more weight that any other award given, since it is the first choice of the magazine's editor rather than a vote by the readers”, explained Felipe Cruz, Explora's general manager.

Likewise, in its January, 2005 edition, the magazine's editor pointed out that “The 2005 Gold List represents our choice of establishments that are the best in terms of location, rooms, service, environment/design, cuisine and leisure facilities. Starting with the properties that earned the most points in the Readers' Travel Awards 2004, we have compiled essential facts and added our own opinions and advice. The result is a list that is more than just a list – it is the most useful hotel directory available”.
