New Hotel Altiplanico
From North to South
“Maximum hospitality and minimum interference” is the motto under which the new hotel Altiplánico Sur in Puerto Natales, which will begin operations in September, 2005, is being built.
The businessman Juan D'Etigny presented the project of this new hotel to the regional authorities several weeks ago. Through the co-financing of the Program for Investment Attraction to regions and TodoChile of CORFO a prior study was done on the construction and operation of the hotel.
The project is conceived under the same concept “Altiplánico”, since it will work in conjunction with the hotel Altiplánico of San Pedro de Atacama, which has had much success in the area since its inauguration. This concept considers a design of excellent quality to be a priority, and will give priority to beauty over luxury, with an important role for nature, and as such, respect for the surroundings. To this is added first class attention, personalized and familiar.
“The idea of constructing this second hotel in Puerto Natales, results from the fact that various of our guests had as a second destination in Chile , Patagonia and they made known their distress to find the same concept or brand with which we work in the hotel in San Pedro,” says Juan D'Etigny.
The hotel, which will be four stars, will have 30 rooms and is based on eco-tourism. The first stage will be undertaken with 22 rooms, offices, and accompanying services. The approximate investment of this stage is one million dollars; the second will enter into operation in September of 2006 and will undertake the construction of eight additional rooms.
