Serrano Bridge
New Access to TDP Park
The new Serrano Bridge is 145 meters long. This safer, more comfortable access to the TDP National Park will be the novelty of this new tourist season.
The Highway Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Telecommunications was in charge of building this modern bridge and it was delivered to the community of Última Esperanza last July.
The viaduct consists of four 32.5 meter sections and two 40 meter sectors, with eight meter wide carriageways and 1.2 meter wide pedestrian walkways on either side. It was built using metal girders, reinforced concrete and also has anti-crash rails.
This bridge will increase prospects of development for the zone’s tourism and trade and will generate an improved standard of living for the inhabitants of the province and the region as a whole in the medium and long term.
Work was started in April 2003, and more than one thousand million pesos were invested.
