Sendero de Chile
For Trekking lovers

This year, Sendero de Chile (Chile’s Path) will open a segment that will connect Torres del Paine National Park to the Milodón Cave Natural Monument. This is a 41 km long route, which will we added to the circuit expecting to connect several points of the country.

So far, a total of 1,000 km have been provided to travel Chile and get to know both natural and cultural diversity of the country. This initiative expects to build and implement a connected network of paths and circuits traveling across the national territory.

Sendero de Chile is a Bicentenary project, coordinated by CONAMA in association with a number of other institutions, such as, CONAF, FOSIS, SERNATUR, the Ministry of National Property, municipalities, and the Chilean Army.

Once completed, it will be at the level of other long paths existing in the world, and will become one of the major trekking routes in the planet, with a particular characteristic: beyond physical construction, Sendero de Chile gives us the chance to change our customs and behaviors towards natural, historical and cultural heritage of the country, in which communities neighboring the path are both managers and users of the program.

The Path, that is currently divided into 37 segments within very diverse landscapes, such as, the desert, Robinson Crusoe island, and Patagonia, is a place to be in contact with nature, for environmental education, entertainment, and both heritage and environmental valuation of a territory mostly unknown by people, such as, Cordillera de Los Andes.
