Full speed ahead

The version of the Torres del Paine Car Rally in October will kick off the zone’s high tourist season, which will continue through April 30th 2005.

As in previous years, the National Tourism Service (Sernatur) expects the number of visitors to the region to increase. As a result, they have planned several activities for tourists who choose this destination for their vacations.

For example, this first rally has been designed to attract the most daring of tourists and will be held on October 10th and 11th. The circuit will use the sector’s old roads skirting the Torres del Paine Park.

Most activities, however, will take place in February, including the most important – the Patagonia Film Show. The inauguration of this fourth version will involve the traditional showing of a film inside the Milodon Cave, 24 kilometers from Puerto Natales.

Activities include the zone’s culinary exhibitions and traditional festivals, including Chilean rodeos and festivals. All of these will take place at the same time as sports activities in the park, which have the largest number of followers.
