The district of Torres del Paine is located in the Province of Ultima Esperanza , north-east the city of Puerto Natales.
It has a 6,630 Km2 surface which lodges Torres del Paine National Park. It has a population of around 800 people.
Cerro Castillo Aerodrome
Villa Cerro Castillo is the capital of the district of Torres del Paine. It has a police station, a public school, a frontier checkpoint, an emergency room, an aerodrome, a tourist service center, and a museum.
Its geographic location is favorably strategic, since it is the route to and from the interior of Argentina , and represents concentration of all basic services within the district scope. It also has two coffee shops, a hotel and an Inn . It has two rooms for multiple uses, a new gym, a public library, and a “Telecenter” offering Internet services to the community and general public.

Relevant Activities in the district:
Shearing: in December. Approximately 1,500 “corriedale” animals are sheared per day.
Chilean Style Party :during two days of January, consisting of breaking of colts and young bulls, horse races, sheep dog training contests, and a popular dancing party as a closing ceremony.
Chilean Rodeo: During two days of February
Bovine Cattle Marking : January or February) and ovine tagging (November).
